Perla Sorreda - Esguerra is the former Chief Dietitian of the PHILIPPINE HEART CENTER,QUEZON CITY FOR 31 YEARS.  Mrs. Esguerra prior to her work at the PHC was with University of the Philippines Diliman as a Food Service Supervisor in 1976 to 1983. Just after passing the Licensure Exam for Dietitian, she worked as a Research Assistant in the College of Home Economics, University of the Philippines Diliman. 

Mrs. Esguerra is an active member of different professional organizations . She held various positions as Board of Directors / committee chairs in the NDAP-AIPO, secretary of NDAP Foundation, Vice President of the DOH-League of the Registered Nutritionist-Dietitians ,Inc. DOH LRNDI)    President of the Philippine Association of the Cardio-Pulmonary Rehab (PACPR) , Faculty member of the Foundation for Lay Educators  on Heart Diseases (FLEHD) to name a few. She authored three (3)  best seller books while at the Philippine Heart center :  HEALTHY HEART COOKBOOK VOL 1 AND 2,  PHC ALIVE DIET  and the Reference Guide for CORONARY ARTERY DISEASE – NUTRI DIGEST  and  DOH-Manual on Operation of  Dietary Services in the Philippines . A member of the Panel  in the preparation of Nutrition Management Guidelines  for persons who use drugs by the Food and Nutrition Research Institute.   SHE has attended numerous conventions, summit ,post graduate courses on different topics / issues here and abroad. Has presented a research in collaboration with Abbot Philippines and PHC about BLENDERIZED FEEDING among different hospital in Metro Manila.  Her passion about healthy lifestyle and Nutrition gave her the chance to be a much sought speaker and lecturer in different venues, media  and fora.  HER various achievements and contributions to the profession was recognized when she was awarded the Outstanding Nutritionist  of the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) last 2019.
