Jake Brandon M. Andal is a Registered Nutritionist-Dietitian. He earned his Bachelor’s degree at the University of the Philippines - Los Baños (UPLB) in 2017 and is currently taking his Master of Science in Applied Nutrition minor in Biochemistry at the same university under Nestle’s Post-graduate Scholarship Program. He started his career as a Clinical Dietitian at Saint Luke’s Medical Center. At a very young age, Mr. Andal became a Board Member and Public Relations Officer of the Philippine Society of Nutritionist-Dietitians, Inc. (PSND). He is also a co-founder and the acting Board Secretary of Sports Nutrition Association of the Philippines, Inc. He is frequently invited as a resource person on various TV guesting in GMA Network, GMA News and Public Affairs, and CNN Philippines. Recently, his research “Factors Affecting the Use of Culture Competence in Diabetes Care and Education by Clinical Dieticians in Selected Urban Tertiary Hospitals” was presented in the Asia Pacific Conference on Clinical Nutrition where the authors received the Young Investigators Award distinction. Currently, he’s pursuing his research in the Functional profile of Duhat (Syzygium cumini) and its effect in-vivo on blood glucose, adiposity and appetite regulation and the dietary intake of energy, protein, iron, cobalamin, folate, and its association with RBC folate of women of reproductive age. He is a current consultant for various health promotions and nutrition research for different brands and agencies.
